Who We Are

Kelly Dorso has 25 years of design experience with a variety of design/build, remodeling, staging and decorating projects in both residential and commercial design. Kelly knew from the time she was a young girl that she would have a career in interior design. Her favorite activities as a child included drawing, building, arranging and coloring and she is thrilled that she gets to do all of these things in a much bigger way in her everyday life as a designer. Kelly earned her BFA in Interior Design from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Her design career began in the Bay Area but having a son with an Autism diagnosis brought her back to her home town of New Brighton, Minnesota, where she could better manage his Autism intervention. Her experience with her son’s sensory needs and educational path prompted her to begin a spin-off design company, Designing for Autism.

Kelly values building relationships and getting to know her clients and their families so she can design the best spaces possible for them, reflecting their unique needs and preferences. Nothing brings Kelly more joy than seeing her clients’ smiles when the finishing touches are going into a space and they are witnessing her vision coming to life. Kelly thinks through every detail of an environment so that her clients are left with a sense of peace and calmness, being able to focus on their own passions in an often hectic world.
